Prices are good through December 31, 2026. A 50% deposit and signed contract are required for book services. The remainder of the balance is due upon completion and before delivery of files.

A big part of choosing an editor isn’t just skill—it’s also determining whether or not you’ll be able to work with the person. In order to let you get an idea of both factors, I’m happy to offer a pre-edit chat and a no-obligation sample edit on your manuscript. This chat and edit are FREE. Send me the first chapter of your manuscript and I’ll happily edit the first 1,000 words and send it back to you. When booking a free sample, please include the complete word count of your manuscript.
Manuscript Evaluation (ME) Services
Also known as the developmental critique.
Rate
Current Rate: $0.008/word ($400 for a 50k manuscript)
Industry Rates: $0.01-$0.016/word ($500-$800 for a 50k manuscript)
What you get: A written report, with several pages of feedback on what’s working and what isn’t. The consistency, strengths, and weaknesses of the writing, and suggestions for manuscript improvement. No changes are made to the book file.

- Up to one hour of calls during the process
- Up to a 10 page manuscript analysis
- A thirty minute post-critique chat (at client’s request)
I accept manuscripts ranging from micro-fiction to full length novels.

Developmental Editing (DE) Services
Also known as structural or story editing.
Rate
Current Rate: $0.021/word ($1,050 for a 50k manuscript)
Industry Rates: $0.03-$0.05/word ($1,500-$2,500 for a 50k manuscript)
What you get: You will receive a detailed report outlining areas where potential improvements can be made, consistency, revision suggestions, and examples that appear either in the report and/or as inline comments within the manuscript.
- A free thirty minute pre-edit chat
- Up to three hours of calls during the process
- A 10+ page manuscript analysis
- A thirty minute post-edit chat (at client’s request)
I accept manuscripts ranging from micro-fiction to full length novels.

Line Editing (LE) Services
Also called substantive editing and stylistic editing.
Rate
Current Rate: $0.016/word ($800 for a 50k manuscript)
Industry Rates: $0.02-$0.035/word ($1,000-$1,750 for a 50k manuscript)
What you get: Authors will receive a detailed report outlining areas where potential improvements can be made, like authenticity, pace and flow, tense, engagement, narration, and more with examples that appear in the report, as inline comments within the manuscript, and track changes on a line-by-line and paragraph-by-paragraph basis.

- Up to two hours of calls during the process
- In-line analysis of the entire manuscript
- A thirty-minute post-edit chat (at client’s request)
